Terms of service

The agreement between your store and us when you use Banlist. Plain language, no surprises.

Last updated 27 October 2026

These terms apply when a Shopify merchant (“you”) installs or uses Banlist (“the app”), made by TinyFloor (“we”, “us”). By installing the app you agree to them. They sit alongside Shopify’s Terms of Service, which also apply to your store.

What the app does

The app keeps a blocklist that you manage and adds a checkout rule to your store. Buyers whose details match someone on your list can’t complete a checkout and see the message you set. You decide who is on the list and why; the app doesn’t add anyone by itself, score buyers or share lists between stores.

Your responsibilities

You’re responsible for who you block and for following the laws that apply to your store, including consumer-protection, anti-discrimination and data-protection laws. Only block people for legitimate reasons, such as fraud, chargebacks, abuse or orders that are refused. Tell your customers in your own privacy policy that you may refuse orders to prevent fraud. Matching is on the details a buyer enters, so a buyer who shares an address, name or phone with someone you block may be blocked too: check before you block a detail that others may use.

Your account

You use the app through your Shopify store; there’s no separate account. You’re responsible for who on your staff can open it.

Plans and billing

  • The Free plan blocks up to 25 people. Paid plans and their prices are shown in the app and on its App Store listing.
  • Charges are made by Shopify and appear on your Shopify bill. Shopify’s billing terms apply.
  • Free trials end on the date shown when you start them. If you don’t cancel before then, the plan’s price applies.
  • You can change or cancel your plan, or uninstall the app, at any time. Shopify’s billing handles the change for the current billing period. Without a paid plan, you’re on Free.
  • If we raise a price, you’ll be told before it applies to your store, and you can cancel instead.

Acceptable use

Don’t use the app to break the law or Shopify’s rules, interfere with its operation or other merchants’ stores, or try to get at data that isn’t yours. We may suspend access if the app is being misused.

Your data

Your store’s data stays yours. We use it only to run the app, as described in our privacy policy. When you uninstall the app, we delete your store’s data.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the app running and blocking reliable, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors, or that every attempt to evade your blocklist is caught. Shopify’s own services and limits apply to the checkout rule. We improve the app over time and may change or retire features; if a change removes something you rely on, we’ll tell you in advance where we can.

Disclaimer

The app is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those in these terms, including that the app will stop every unwanted order.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost sales, chargebacks or profits, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for the app in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

Ending these terms

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may end these terms if you seriously break them, or if we stop offering the app, in which case we’ll give you reasonable notice.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date above and tell you in the app about significant changes before they apply. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
